about me

Jemma is an independent freelance photographer whose work focuses on four key areas: Food, Style, Travel and People. Using natural daylight to accentuate the beauty of her images, Jemma’s style is lucid and relaxed throughout. This makes for accurate reflections of the environments in which she shoots, of inspiring people and situations expressed in images of real life.

When photographing people, both portraits and cultural images, Jemma articulates an honest, reportage style which captures the true personalities of her subjects; for food and style the pictures are clean and bright, shot in true lifestyle fashion.

She began her career assisting the brilliant photographer, David Loftus, who introduced her to the wonderful world of food photography. Having always loved traveling the world and taking photographs, this was a wonderfully enjoyable way of combining her love of food with her love of people and their differing cultures. During her time with David, among other great people in the food industry, Jemma worked with Jamie Oliver on his cook books, which was a fantastic experience.

Based in London, she receives commissions from all areas of the industry, including Design, Editorial, PR, Publishing and a variety of events, as well as from individuals for private work. Clients include Leon, Fabulous Magazine, Capital Radio, The National Trust, numerous PR agencies, H&M and many more. The images here represent a combination of both commissioned and personal work.

Jemma has a second company called Pearl Pictures for which she shoots weddings and events. You can view her work at www.pearl-pictures.com.
